A Corporate Foundation focused on children

The CMA CGM Corporate Foundation was set up in 2005 to support projects relating to children. Its President, Mrs Naïla Saadé, explains:

“Our Group is fundamentally very forward-looking. It is therefore only natural that we should want to support those who are the future: children.”

The foundation operates mainly in France’s Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur (PACA) region and in Lebanon, where it aims to:

  1. Encourage the personal development of children with disabilities
  2. Improve the everyday lives of children who are ill
  3. Promote equal opportunities for underprivileged youngsters

More than 60 grants have been allocated to support projects relating to children since 2005.

In 2007 the Foundation created the CMA CGM Corporate Foundation Prize which is awarded every year by Mrs Naïla Saadé to two associations – one French and one Lebanese - for their humanitarian or social projects supporting children.

Operation Containers of Hope
The CMA CGM Corporate Foundation also launched a major humanitarian operation in the summer of 2012, Containers of Hope, to support programs by Action contre la Faim and Médecins Sans Frontières in Africa.
For a year, the CMA CGM Group put its logistics and shipping expertise at the service of these two NGOs to transport 100 containers.
In total nearly 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid - medicines, food and nutritional supplements, water, sanitation & hygiene equipment, vehicles, communication and energy equipment are being transported. The operation’s goal is to support the two NGOs in their work with populations in Africa affected by serious humanitarian crises, particularly children who are the most vulnerable. Find out more
