CMA CGM - Magazine

Driven by the Group’s dynamic, international growth, CMA CGM’s staff has multiplied from 6,500 employees in 2003 to over 16,000 employees today. Working around the world, CMA CGM staff members perform nearly 150 different jobs on shore and at sea.

To accompany this expansion, CMA CGM must bring aboard more officers and sailors, more experts along the entire shipping chain, and more sales staff. That’s why CMA CGM is looking for men and women with skill sets that match our core business and support our developments in sectors beyond maritime shipping.

Maintaining a highly professional staff for these exciting and varied occupations requires a significant investment. CMA CGM is currently engaged in an ambitious global effort to train, coach, and develop loyalty among all employees throughout their careers.

"Our goal is to keep our workforce energized and to fully develop the capabilities of each employee."

Group-wide programs will be put in place in all countries to communicate our corporate culture and share CMA CGM’s techniques and methods.

Over 3% of payroll will be invested in competence development to maintain and improve the level of excellence and motivation of our staff.

One of the greatest challenges of the next five years will be to open up career opportunities to new hires and promote talent from within. We have set an annual mobility objective of 5% for all staff through foreign assignments, career path changes, or promotions within the same field.

Our goal is to keep our workforce energized and to fully develop the capabilities of each employee around the world. This has been the key to past success and will secure our future success at CMA CGM.
