CMA CGM is pleased to announce the upgrading of its CIMEX service linking Asia to
the Middle East Gulf.
The NEW CIMEX will be an enhanced service in partnership with CSCL, in replacement
of CMA CGM CIMEX and CSCL AMA services, featuring 2 major changes:
- The strongest and most competitive modern fleet in this trade, composed of 6 vessels
with homogeneous capacity of 8,500 TEUs. This fleet will replace the 3000 and 5700
TEUs vessels currently deployed on CIMEX / AMA services, without adding extra capacity
on the market.
- An enlarged and attractive port coverage with fast transit times and the introduction
of 5 new ports calls (Tianjin, Dalian, Shekou, Nansha and Damman) offering new direct
connections to North China and the Middle East Gulf.
The new CIMEX rotation will be as follows: Tianjin, Dalian, Pusan, Shanghai (Yangshan),
Shanghai (Waigaoqiao), Ningbo, Shekou, Port Kelang, Khor Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Damman,
Bandar Abbas, Port Kelang, Nansha and return to Tianjin.
The trade from Asia to the Middle East has enjoyed a healthy growth that is likely
to continue. With this new first class service, CMA CGM is pleased to be able to
offer its customers the most efficient fleet and a unique enlarged port coverage
including Damman in Saudi Arabia, thus being the only carrier to call 4 ports in
the Gulf.
The new CIMEX service will start its westbound rotation at Tianjin on July 8th,
2009 with the sailing of “CMA CGM DON CARLOS”.
