|
4 Dangerous Cargo Office (DCO) are in charge of delivering acceptance for loading dangerous goods on board vessels (Marseille, Le Havre, Norfolk and Hong Kong). No dangerous goods can be loaded on CMA CGM vessels or vessels freighted by CMA CGM without prior acceptance of CMA CGM Dangerous Cargo Office who will issue acceptance number.
If requested by Lines Management (Lines) all dangerous goods loaded under CMA CGM Bill of lading on partner's vessels may also request Dangerous Cargo Office approval.
Ship Manager/Planner will issue a hazardous booking deadline schedule or hazardous cargo requests must be submitted at least 48 hours prior vessel arrived (FAS and NAF delay is reduced to 24 hours). All exceptional booking requested after the closing time should be submitted to Dangerous Cargo Office and Ship Manager/Planner approval before being accepted to client.
Booking agent cannot accept dangerous goods booking before being accepted by Dangerous Cargo Office.
Dangerous Cargo Office can only accept dangerous goods substances complying with Imo Rules/national and local regulations, CMA CGM Policy (see below), Lines instructions and Ship Manager/Planner comments if particular restrictions due to ships configuration.
Acceptance of hazardous cargoes does not relieve shipper and booking agent of their obligations and agent will be held fully responsible for any consequences arising out of their negligence, or negligence of any person working for them directly or indirectly. |

After shipper's agreement the customer will receive a dangerous good declaration he will have to supply at the time of loading. |

|
For maritime transport of dangerous goods, materials or articles, the International Maritime Organisation has classified them in 9 classes :
Class 1, Explosives
Class 2, Gases
Class 3, Flammable liquids
Class 4, Flammable solids
Class 5, Oxidizing substances organic peroxides
Class 6, Toxic and infectious substances
Class 7, Radioactives material
Class 8, Corrosives substances
Class 9, Miscellaneous dangerous substance and articles
In reefer : 1. No class 6.1 (Toxic substances) 2. Class 3 (Flammable Liquids): Acceptable provided reefer temperature never reaches the safety temperature, if it does, reefer will be kept stopped. Safety temperature is 10°C below Flash Point. 3. See line restrictions.

As our CMA CGM Group dry containers do not comply with part 6.9.3.1.2 of the IMDG Code, hazardous cargo loaded in bulk is not allowed.
