HAZARDOUS REQUIREMENTS

There has recently been an increase in the number of Multimodal Dangerous Goods Declarations that have not met the required standards as set out by the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code and related legislation. In instances where this has occurred, shippers / forwarders have faced the prospects of delayed shipments and the potential associated costs. In order to ensure that any application for dangerous cargo is approved by the vessel operator, shippers and forwarders are reminded of the minimum standards that must be adhered to in order to receive approval for the loading of dangerous cargo.

For further details please click here.

The shipper / forwarder is responsible for the accuracy of all information contained on the Multimodal Dangerous Goods Form. Any delays and or costs that result from errors, omissions, miss-declarations or inaccuracies or eligibilities of any of the information contained on the MDGF are for the account of the shipper and /or forwarder.

ANL / CMA CGM or its staff / agents will only process applications on the basis of the information contained on the MDGF and will not alter any information contained or add to any additional information that is missing from the MDGF as presented by the shipper / forwarder. Any application that does not contain all required information or is of such poor copy quality as to be deemed illegible will not be processed until the information or legibility issues are rectified by presentation of a revised MDGF by the shipper / forwarder.

HAZARDOUS APPLICATION CUT OFF DATES

Application cut off will be 72 hours prior to vessel cut off at the respective load port cutting off. (E.g. if vessel cuts off on a Friday at 1400 hours, hazardous applications will cut off at 1400 hours the previous Tuesday. If the vessel cut off on Weekend or Monday, hazardous application will cut off 1200 hours on previous Wednesday). Applications received after this time can not be guaranteed of acceptance by the vessel operator.

This time frame is required to ensure approvals are received before receival cut off given the number of applications that are now processed / approved off shore and to allow for the various time differences.

Release of empty container equipment will be issued upon request but clients must ensure that delivery to the terminal cannot proceed until the approval of the hazardous application has being provided from this office. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in container/s being short shipped with any resultant costs incurred being to the account of the shipper / forwarder. Prior to DG containers being received at the terminal and loaded on board any vessel, ANL / CMA CGM must receive the final MDGF declaring container number/s in section 15, seal number/s in section 16 and correctly signed and endorsed in both sections 20 and 22. Failure to submit the appropriately endorsed final MDGF will result in cargo being short shipped with all resultant costs being for the shipper / forwarder
