Malaysia: Empty Container Return Accepted with Full Demurrage and Detention (D&D) Payment
Please be informed that effective 1 September 2021, our depots will only accept empty container return when there is no outstanding Demurrage and Detention (D&D) payment. This is applicable to import shipments only and for all carriers under the CMA CGM Group.
If D&D free time has expired by the time of empty container return, customers are advised to request for D&D invoice to cover for the duration until the date of empty container return. Upon receiving the invoice, customers will need to make payment first before proceeding with empty container return. In summary, D&D payment that is applicable until actual empty container return needs to be settled prior to empty container return at depot.
As such, customers are encouraged to request for their D&D invoice during office hours via email (Mailkua.firstname.lastname@example.org) at least 24 hours before payment and empty container return.
If the instructions above are not complied with, the cost incurred for all futile trips will be borne by customers as depots will not accept empty container returns.
