CMA CGM Group's preventive measures for navigation in the Red Sea

On Friday, July 21, 2017, the Maritime Prefecture of the Channel and the North Sea, in liaison with the CMA CGM Group and Les Abeilles (Bourbon Group), organized a towing exercise between a large container ship, the CMA CGM Marco Polo, and the Abeille Languedoc, including an ‘intervention’, ‘assistance’ and ‘rescue tug’ (RIAS), off the coast of Le Havre (76).

This Wednesday morning, the Marion Dufresne and her CMA CGM crew successfully completed the rescue operation of Kito de Pavant. The skipper, participating in the the Vendée Globe Race, suffered a serious damage on Tuesday, December 6, while sailing close to the Crozet Islands, South of South Africa.

On November 16, CMA CGM successfully performed a joint emergency drill together with the Chinese Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) in Chiwan, China.
