The special call of CONTAINESHIPS NORD at the port of Skikda ( Algeria)

On January 12th, CONTAINERSHIP NORD raised the port of Skikda as part of its maiden journey and before its delivery on the DUNKRUS service. With a capacity of 1400 TEUs, it is the first order for four equivalent LNG-powered container ships. The ships are to be delivered during the first half of 2019.

This program allows CMA CGM to offer the first direct service Asia-Algeria ever made by the company.

On this occasion, the management of the port of Skikda and the local authorities organized a thank you cocktail in the port to celebrate the group initiative.

Philippe Rech, DG CMA CGM Algeria: "This stop, although punctual, reverberate once again, the will of CMA CGM to consolidate its leading position in Algeria, especially in the Far East trade. In partnership with the lines, we commit to renew this type of operation whenever possible”.
