UPDATE ON REVISED IMPORT GUIDELINES TO NIGERIA

Dear Esteemed Customers,


Further to the held sensitization workshop on revised import and export guidelines in Nigeria as organized by the Federal Ministry of Finance, directives and guidelines on the palletization has been released.


Palletization of containerized cargo is mandatory with effective from 1st January, 2018. However, customers with e-Form ‘M’ prior to 1st January, 2018 shall not be required to palletize its containerized cargoes, provided such cargo arrives Nigeria on or before 31st March, 2018.


Below are listed exemptions to the palletization directives;

Non-compliance will result in the Importer being liable to a FINE of 25% of the FOB value in Naira Equivalent of the un-palletized cargo.


The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is responsible for the implementation and enforcement of the Palletization Sanctions and Guidelines.
