Good performances expected in 2020/2021 for the tea commodity
According to the Tea Board of Tanzania, the country is expected to harvest 40,000 tons of tea leaves during the 2020/2021 season against 28,000 tons in 2019/2020.
These performances can be explained by good weather and by the actions carried out within the framework of the development program of the sector, which aims to harvest 60,000 ton of tea leaves per year by 2025.
Among the measures implemented, are included, among others, the revival of abandoned plantations, the extension of cultivated areas and the encouragement of producers to join cooperatives to benefit from better access to fertilizers.
CMA CGM monitors closely such development to deliver the best services possible to the tea exporters of Tanzania.
