MAYOTTE - CYCLONE CHIDO
Without prejudice or acknowledgement of liability
Dear customers,
On Saturday December 14, the island of Mayotte was hit by a devastating force 4/5 cyclone, which also brought heavy storms, rain and flooding, with catastrophic consequences for communities and infrastructures.
To date, communication, energy and traffic systems remain fragile, despite the actions taken by the French government. The French authorities are ensuring that the logistical infrastructures under their control are gradually becoming operational again, and are able to requisition any equipment or goods needed to accomplish their mission.
The CMA CGM group, for its part, has been requisitioned to transport products and materials essential to the needs of the population. Several ships have already been deployed for this purpose.
We will inform you of the status of your goods as soon as the situation permits, and hereby inform you that CMA CGM accepts no liability for any loss or damage resulting from this force majeure situation.
All rights of CMA CGM under law and under the terms and conditions of the applicable bill of lading are reserved.
The CMA CGM Group expresses its deep solidarity with all victims of Cyclone Chido.
We thank you for your support to the people of Mayotte.
