Suspension of bookings to Tunis/Rades, Tunisia

CMA CGM has been experiencing severe operation delays with its container vessels in TUNIS / RADES for weeks, cumulating an average port stay of 25 days (between congestion/waiting time & very low operational productivity at berth).
As a result, Tunis/Rades cargo evacuation processing from our MALTA hub is being obviously seriously affected.
In this respect, please be informed that:
1. CMA CGM will be implementing temporary STOP BOOKING for new shipments to TUNIS/RADES with immediate effect and until further notice:
- For all cargoes Worldwide* bound for TUNIS/RADES
- Effective as from July 16th, 2021 and until further notice
- Cargo : Dry / IMO / Reefer
*Not applicable to cargoes loaded on RORO service between MARSEILLE and TUNIS/RADES
As an alternative, bookings can still be accepted / diverted to other Tunisian ports as: SOUSSE / SFAX / BIZERTE.
2. CMA CGM will keep in the meantime calling TUNIS/RADES with its services to evacuate:
- Current stock available in our Malta Hub*
- Worldwide floating cargoes/shipments*
* Transport lead times can't possibly be guaranteed under these complicated induced circumstances
We are relying on your continuous support in this new step so that we can overcome this situation together.
We are definitely working at re-accepting TUNIS / RADES new bookings in the coming weeks, as soon as the situation enables it.
