Operational situation in Matadi, DRC

Following the recent collapse of the road linking Matadi to Kinshasa in December 2022, CMA CGM would like to inform its customers of the current operational situation in Matadi.

Road repair evolution:

At first, a secondary itinerary was used. The road is now partially repaired and reopened. The trucks are using a difficult gradient road made with sand. Full repair could take more weeks to be completed.

Matadi - yard situation:

The yard evacuation suffered some severe delays. The terminal is heavily congested, and reachstackers breakdowns are now worsening the situation. More delays are expected due to yard’s occupation.

We do not know when the situation will get back to normal, but we are taking all possible measures to limit the impact. We will keep you informed of the evolution.
